My Story

I'm Millay, and I've always been a maker. Creativity has been my way of understanding the world for as long as I can remember. But chronic illness changed everything. POTS, PCOS, a pesky connective tissue disorder, and the exhaustion that comes with all three buried that part of me for years. Creativity got replaced with doctor visits and symptom tracking. Days that used to be filled with paint and fabric became consumed by managing a body that felt like it was working against me. The energetic, imaginative person I used to be felt unreachable, like someone I used to know but couldn't find anymore.

Slowly, through rest and a community of women who understood what I was going through, I found my way back. I learned that creativity isn't a luxury or something we do when we have leftover energy. It's medicine. Slowness isn't laziness. It's survival, and sometimes the most radical act we can choose. We deserve gentleness, especially when our bodies demand so much from us.

Starry Eyed Mailing Club is what came from that healing. It's for chronically ill dreamers who need permission to rest, create, and take up space. If that's you, I'm so glad you're here.
